I received my B.S. at Indiana University in 1979. I taught Chemistry and Physics from 1979 to 1986 at Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis. I left teaching to stay home and raise a family. While homeschooling my own 5 children, I taught Chemistry and Physics in the homeschool community for about 10 years. This past year I went back to public school teaching at Tipton High School becoming their one and only Chemistry teacher.
I live in Westfield on a registered tree farm with my husband and 5 children (ages from 14 to 22), My oldest daughter is a Language Arts teacher at Westfield Middle School, the next two are students at Purdue and the last two are at Westfield High School. We also have Australian Shepherd dogs, and 5 cats. We have raised sheep, chickens, turkeys, llamas, and geese at various times. We also currently have honey bees, and extract our own honey. Instead of regular gardening, we have an apple orchard, red tart cherry trees, blueberries and lots of raspberry bushes.
I came to Marian to update my teaching license in Chemistry, and become a better Chemistry teacher by applying Green Chemistry to my own classroom.
